It meant your kids could go to college. It meant a pension and health insurance in a state that doesn&#8217;t offer much of either. It was one of the clearest on-ramps into the middle class available to working Texans \u2014 Black, Hispanic, White, and Native American families alike built careers there.<\/p>\n<p>The data below shows that\u00a0<strong>132 H-1B workers<\/strong>\u00a0are currently placed at TxDOT through 13 outside staffing and consulting firms. The largest single vendor,\u00a0<strong>CGI Technologies<\/strong>, holds 100 petitions \u2014 50 filed each quarter \u2014 all for the same job title at the same wage. Those are IT positions that Texas workers could fill.
